Dusty Harvard's journey in baseball is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the sport. Born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, baseball was not an immediate aspiration, as high school baseball was not a prevalent option. Initially, Dusty pursued a path in football as a means to secure a college education. However, it was during his junior year, while playing in summer league baseball, that the winds of destiny began to change course.
Recognized on a national level, Dusty made the pivotal decision to transition to baseball, a move that would ultimately shape his future. His talent and determination did not go unnoticed, leading to his selection by the San Francisco Giants in the MLB Draft straight out of high school.
Dusty's journey then took him to Oklahoma State University, where he donned the Cowboys uniform for all four years of his collegiate baseball career. Graduating with a degree in business administration in less than four years, Dusty was primed for the next chapter in his baseball career.
Drafted once again, this time by the Chicago White Sox, Dusty spent the subsequent four seasons in the organization. His time with the White Sox exposed him to some of the finest players in the world, fostering his growth not only as a player but, significantly, as a coach.
